• Grilled Corn

I love this amazing weather in TN, today was 90 outside and I been grilling corn 2 days in row. This goes so well with BBQ my dad in law made.

As child I always loved corn. After I got married I realized how much work it is to prepare corn so only had patients for few times. I seen lots of different recipes where you dont have to cook corn for hours but cant compare the taste.

This dish is pretty weird if you are not growing up with this dish around. In Ukraine people make it around holidays or some other occasions. When we moved to USA with my family, mom made holodets and as all Ukrainians she wanted to give this treat to neighbors, just to say hi and be friendly. Well few days later, neighbor brough plate and said “good soup”. Ohhh lol… you eat it cold almost...

  • Butter Cheese Spread

This is great spread to serve with fresh bread at home. When I think of our trip to Victoria BC, I remember how they brought us this warm bread with butter, ohh, yummy… that was the best part of the meal. I didn’t care about the order I made. My husband loves this spread with homemade fresh bread. Here is my favorite recipe (recipe/160)

  • Grandmas Strawberry Scones

Those scones remind me of grandma, she often made them when we would come over to hang out at her place. Scones are pretty popular now a days. Starbucks sells blueberry scones, but in my opinion, you cannot compare them to homemade, warm out the oven…yummy

Few tips that I learned over the years of making those scones:

The secret to perfectly soft scones is not to over work the...

  • Canned Cherries

This is one of my first adventures into the canning world. I like when things are simple, and canning did not appear to be that easy. I was wrong on this one; this recipe is actually as easy as it gets.

I've had time to test these already and must say - they've turned out wonderful. The next step, is to use them for baking pastries.

  • Zefir a Russian Marshmallows

If you have never tried Zefir, I would say the closest thing to it are marshmallows. This makes an amazing addition to any party. I love this recipe, using simple ingredients that I always have on hand.

Side note: This zefir may taste different than a store bough, much softer, just because they are fresh.
