Braised Cabbage with Beef  (Best Combo)

This braised cabbage with beef is melt-in-your-mouth tender and the definition of healthy comfort food. A Slavic staple that never gets old!

INGREDIENTS

– beef flank – medium cabbage head – large carrots – medium onion – tomato paste or ketchup – oil olive or avocado salt ground black pepper unsalted butter

STEP 1

Cut the beef into similar-sized thin strips pieces. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the beef into the pan.

STEP 2

Grate or thinly slice the carrots and cabbage. Dice the onions into small pieces.

STEP 3

Add the onions to the skillet and cook them until golden. Next, add the carrots.

STEP 4

Switch the heat to low and add the cabbage. Cook it down for about 20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

STEP 5

Add the tomato paste and butter and stir to combine. Cook for another  10-15 minutes. Serve immediately and enjoy as-is or alongside your favorite grain!
