Piroshki - Three Ways

Ingredients

  • 1 Piroshki Dough
  • 1 Poppy Seeds
  • 1 Egg for glaze
  • 2 tbsp Sugar for glaze

Instructions

Option One

  • Roll out the dough into a rectangular shape. Apply poppy seeds to the dough and roll the dough into a jelly roll

  • Cut the roll into 4 inch pieces, cut each piece twice to the middle, leaving edges to hold the dough together.

  • Place each pastry two inches apart from each other on a baking sheet lines with parchment paper. Cover it with a kitchen towel, leavening them to rise for about 30 minutes. Using a small bowl, whisk egg with sugar; glaze each bun with egg mixture. Bake in preheated oven, at 350F, for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Option Two

Option Three

  • Form dough into a four inch round shape, place the filling in the middle. Fold over all sides and seal the filling.

  • Using your hand, flatten the dough. Using a sharp knife, cut four pieces that are going to the middle.

  • Add another four cuts but shorter in length. Pull twe cut pieces together, leaving the shorted cut in the middle, pinch two pieces together. Repeat with all other pieces.
