Ingredients

  • 6 medium potatoes
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 3 tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Mozzarella, cheddar or Mexican

Instructions

  • In a deep pan, melt the butter and add in the diced onion. Sauté the onion on low heat until transluscent.
  • Add in the flour to the pan and sauté it for about a minute to cook out the raw taste. Add in the milk and whisk until smooth.

  • Season the cream sauce with salt and pepper. Set it aside.

  • Peel and slice the potatoes. Assemble them in a 9x13 in. baking dish (or round 10 in. pan), using a scalloped pattern.

  • Pour the sauce over the potatoes.
  • Top the potatoes with cheese and cover the baking dish with a lid or some foil. Bake the potatoes at 400°F for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the lid or foil and bake the potatoes for another 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is lightly golden brown. Dig in and enjoy!
