Cobbler Filling

  • Combine all the filling ingredients together in a bowl. Set aside.

  • In a medium size bowl combine together flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
    Dry ingredients for cherry cobbler.
  • Grate or cut in cold butter into the flour mixture. Combine together until it resembles course crumbles.

  • Combine buttermilk with vanilla extract. Add it to the the flour mixture and stir to combine it together. The mixture may be lumpy and thats ok.

  • Place cherry filling on the bottom of the 9-10 inch pan.

  • Top it off with 6-8 spoonfuls of dough mixture. Sprinkle with the sugar.

  • Bake at 375F for about 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown. Serve while it's hot and bubbly.
