Remove the core of the apples with a sharp paring knife or apple corer. Use a spoon to carve out more space for the filling if desired.
In a small bowl, mix together the sugar, cinnamon, and walnuts.
Fill each apple with the sugar mixture, then top with 1/2 tablespoon of butter.
Preheat the air fryer to 350°F. Place the apples filling side up in the air fryer basket and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until tender. Enjoy!
